Tell us a little about your background and who you are.
I'm a small-town girl at heart, raised in Martindale. Like most who are born and raised in a small river town, most of my time was spent on the water with family and friends, swimming and grilling out. Quickly after finishing high school I decided I wanted to follow in my grandmother’s footsteps and became a hairstylist.
What is your mission/vision statement?
My vision is to offer exceptional service that leaves a lasting impression. I want every client to feel safe and comfortable sitting in my chair and excited about their next visit. I love bringing out the beauty and happiness in everyone who sits in my chair. I’m aware most of us have had that “bad haircut” or “terrible experience” in the salon. I always do my best to make sure my guests leave with a big smile, knowing that I was able to make them feel beautiful and happy.
How long have you been operating?
I've been in business for over 15 years, and I'm just getting started! For the past 7.5 years, I’ve been at Salon Mink, where my creativity and artistry thrive.
What motivated you to start your own business?
The driving force behind starting my own business was the desire for creative freedom and the opportunity to hold a welcoming space where clients feel valued and cherished. I wanted to express my passion for hairstyling and provide personalized services tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences.
Please describe the services you offer.
I provide a range of color services, from highlights to balayage and from all over color to fantasy color. I also provide haircut services for all lengths and styles, including shags, pixies, bobs, and some fade work. I'm also your go-to for special occasion styling and most types of curly hair. I offer complimentary color consultations to make sure we nail your desired look.
What makes your business stand out from other businesses offering similar services or products?
What sets my business apart is my commitment to honesty and transparency. I believe in providing realistic advice and options to my clients, ensuring their satisfaction and hair health are always top priorities. Clients appreciate my personalized approach and the welcoming atmosphere I strive to create.
From the moment my clients settle into my chair, I open the floor, eager to hear their thoughts, preferences, and any specific desires they may have for their hair. It's all about creating a personalized experience tailored to them and making them feel valued and cared for throughout their salon visit.
What are your customers saying about you? What keeps them coming back?
My customers have been incredibly supportive since I first began at Mink and even earlier in my hairstyling career. Their loyalty and referrals have been instrumental in building my clientele over the years, and I'm truly grateful for their ongoing support. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is hearing new clients say, "I saw someone with the cutest hair at the library, and she recommended you!" It's moments like these that remind me of the special connections we share and the trust my clients have in my abilities. Each client is unique and precious to me, and it's these meaningful relationships that keep me inspired to continue providing exceptional service.
Have you won any awards or had any special recognition or acknowledgment of your business?
While I haven't received any formal awards, the greatest recognition I've received is the loyalty and support of my amazing clients. Their referrals and continued patronage are a testament to the quality of service I provide. It brings me joy to know I've made a positive impact in people’s lives.
What are your plans for the future of your business?
As I look to the future, my goal is to continue growing and evolving my business to better serve my clients and the community. I aspire to further refine my skills, stay updated on the latest trends and techniques in hairstyling, and expand my service offerings to meet the diverse needs of my clientele. Additionally, I aim to foster even stronger connections with my clients and build upon the trust and rapport that has been the foundation of my success so far. Ultimately, I am committed to providing exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for every person who walks through my salon doors.

One aspect that sets my business apart is the personalized attention and care I provide to each client. From the moment they walk through the door, I strive to create a welcoming and comfortable environment where they can relax and enjoy a transformative experience. Additionally, I pride myself on offering honest and transparent advice, ensuring that every client leaves feeling confident and satisfied with their results. Whether it's a subtle change or a bold new look, I am dedicated to helping my clients look and feel their best.
Do you have any upcoming events or specials that you would like to share with us?
Currently, I don't have any upcoming events or specials planned. However, I'm delighted to offer complimentary Bang Trims and Neck Cleanups after your first cut service. Be sure to follow me on social media for any updates or promotions in the future!
Please tell us one of your favorite things about being a part of our community.
Even with the growth, San Marcos still has its small-town charm and welcoming atmosphere. I love how easy it is to connect with people here and how the community comes together to support one another. Whether it's through local events, neighborhood gatherings, or just running into familiar faces around town, there's a genuine sense of community that makes San Marcos feel like home. It's a unique and charming place where people are friendly and neighbors look out for one another. I'm grateful to be a part of such a welcoming and vibrant community.
What are your hours of operation? Do you have seasonal hours?
My hours of operation are Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. I do not have seasonal hours, but any changes to my schedule will be communicated in advance.
